Annie Laura Voisin's Oyster Spagetti

Here it is! Our own grandma's famous oyster spaghetti! I remember eating this as a child and had no idea that anyone had the recipe. As I began posting other recipes on social media, my brother Toby said he had a copy in the office and that we should share that one. The oysters add a rich flavor to the spaghetti, a wonderful dish for this cold weather.

Here it is! Our own grandma's famous oyster spaghetti! I remember eating this as a child and had no idea that anyone had the recipe. Ingredients:

  • 1 slice of salt meat (boil 20 minutes before cooking)

  • 3 large onions

  • 2 cans- 8oz tomato sauce

  • 1 can - 6 or 8 oz paste

  • 1 can - 10 oz Rotel tomatoes

  • 1/2 or 1 - 16oz Spaghetti pack

  • 1/2 cup Ketchup

  • Salt and black pepper

  • Garlic powder to taste

  • 1 or 2 can - mushroom pieces

  • Chopped parsley

  • A half gallon of Wilson's Oysters

Instructions:

  • Brown onions stirring constantly

  • Add salt meat, Rotel Tomatoes, tomato paste, tomato sauce, ketchup, salt and black pepper, garlic powder, and mushrooms

  • Cook 45 minutes

  • Add water and oysters and cook another 30 minutes

  • Boil Spaghetti on the side

  • After Spaghetti is cooked, add to the sauce

  • Serve with French bread or potato salad or both
